Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and relationship-focused Early Intervention Assistant (EIA) to join our multidisciplinary Early Start team. Under the supervision of a qualified Early Intervention Specialist (EIS), you will provide individualized developmental intervention services to infants and toddlers (birth to age three) with developmental delays and disabilities within their natural environments, including the home, community, and clinic when appropriate. Key Responsibilities Provide individualized early intervention services to infants and toddlers (birth to age three) under the direction and supervision of a qualified Early Intervention Specialist (EIS). Implement individualized intervention strategies developed by the supervising EIS that support each child's developmental needs and IFSP outcomes. Embed intervention strategies into everyday routines, play, and naturally occurring learning opportunities to promote meaningful developmental progress. Support children's development across developmental domains, including communication, cognition, social-emotional development, adaptive skills, motor development, and play. Utilize play-based, relationship-focused, and family-centered intervention approaches that promote engagement, learning, and participation. Coach, encourage, and empower parents and caregivers by modeling evidence-based strategies they can use throughout daily routines. Build positive, trusting relationships with families while respecting each family's culture, priorities, values, and strengths. Collect objective data, monitor child progress, and communicate observations to the supervising Early Intervention Specialist. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation, including session notes, attendance records, progress updates, and required Early Start documentation. Collaborate with Early Intervention Specialists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, service coordinators, physicians, and other professionals to support coordinated, interdisciplinary care. Participate in IFSP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions as appropriate. Prepare developmentally appropriate materials and activities that encourage learning through play and family interaction. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, California Early Start regulations, agency policies, and professional standards. Participate in ongoing professional development, reflective supervision, team meetings, and continuing education to maintain high-quality services. Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, initiative, and excellent communication while contributing to a collaborative, family-centered team culture. Qualifications Meets California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) qualifications for an Early Intervention Assistant (EIA). Associate's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Human Development, Psychology, Special Education, or a closely related field OR equivalent qualifications recognized by DDS. Coursework and/or certification meeting California Early Start EIA competency requirements. Experience working with infants, toddlers, young children, or children with developmental delays preferred. Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance. Ability to travel to homes and community locations throughout North Orange County. Ability to pass DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance, TB clearance, and all required background screenings.
