This is a full-time position guaranteeing 40 hours per week, Wednesday through Sunday. Most days will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with some evening extending until 9:00 p.m. The family values flexibility and may occasionally adjust the schedule with advance notice and ask for additional hours of coverage.

Children:

5-year-old. There is also a 16-year-old in the home, although minimal care is required.

Duties:

The duties include childcare light housekeeping related to the children, children's laundry, transporting the children to classes, activities, and appointments, light meal prepping for family, providing homework assistance, grocery shopping, running errands, scheduling appointments, and traveling with the family.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a warm, nurturing, and dependable childcare professional with significant experience caring for young children and a genuine passion for supporting their growth and development. They should be highly engaging and capable of creating meaningful, enriching experiences through play, reading, creative activities, including art, painting, sewing, and building, outdoor exploration, and age appropriate learning opportunities. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and an excellent communicator who can effectively partner with parents and provide thoughtful updates regarding the child's activities, development, routines, and overall well being. They should be comfortable supporting school readiness and early learning through reading, writing, homework assistance, and educational activities while maintaining structure and consistency throughout the child's daily routines. Flexibility is essential, as the family's needs may vary due to school holidays, sick days, travel, and evolving schedules. The candidate should be comfortable working alongside involved parents, knowing when to take initiative, when to step back, and when to provide support as part of a collaborative caregiving team. In addition, the ideal candidate will be responsible, detail oriented, and highly organized, helping to keep the children's belongings, school materials, sports equipment, and play areas tidy and well maintained. They should be comfortable preparing simple meals and snacks for the children and assisting with child related household tasks. A candidate who is comfortable driving is preferred, as driving responsibilities will be introduced gradually over time. The family will provide a vehicle for use while working. The family is looking for a candidate willing to travel with them to help maintain consistency in the child's routine, schedule, and overall sense of stability while away from home. The family has other residences on the East Coast and travels approximately four to six times per year. Above all, they are seeking a Family Assistant who can provide warmth, reliability, structure, enrichment, and continuity, becoming a trusted and valued support person for both the children and the family as a whole.

Compensation:

$55 to $65 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. (115k to 135k annual gross compensation)

Benefits:

This position offers paid vacation, paid holidays, paid sick leave, guaranteed pay 52 weeks per year, and a monthly healthcare stipend. Additionally, the family will be using a payroll service.

Pets:

None at the moment, though the family may get a dog in the future. If so, dog walking may be added to the household duties.
