Job Description

Scope of Work:
To participate as part of the classroom teaching team with a goal of implementing a caring educational program for children ages 2 to 5 years old. This position will assist with the development, implementation and supervision of center-based age-appropriate activities and maintenance of safe learning environments.
Minimum Qualifications:
12 ECE or Child Development (CD) Units, including core courses (child/human growth and development; child/family/community AND curriculum) and 3 Infant/Toddler units PLUS 16 General Education Units OR AA or higher in ECE or related field with 3 units supervised field experience in ECE setting. Holds, or is eligible for a Teacher or Master Teacher Permit. Must be willing to continue educational growth. Fingerprints clearance through Department of Justice for Child Abuse Index Check and Criminal Record Statement. Ability to speak, read, and write the English Language fluently. Spanish speaking is a plus! Knowledge and experience in working with children with special needs including social/emotional needs. Knowledge of and sensitivity to the cultural background of the children and families being served. Ability to relate to children and adults in a positive, respectful manner. Ability to lift and/or carry children up to 50lbs. Ability to supervise/work with a staff of varying educational and experiential backgrounds with sensitive leadership, maturity, and stability.
Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain a professional, loving atmosphere at all times.
  • Work closely with all teaching staff ensuring clear communication regarding children and their care.
  • Ability to organize and facilitate age-appropriate curriculum daily.
  • Facilitate positive communication with parents and staff.
  • Understand and comply with Licensing Regulations in Title 22, Child Care Center.
  • Occasionally stay after hours due to Open House, Christmas Production, Special Events set forth in the school year calendar.
  • Hold or qualify for Assistant Teachers Permit in ECE and working toward a Master Teacher Permit or higher.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently (Bi-Lingual a plus).
  • Physical ability to lift and carry children up to 50lbs if necessary, move quickly when required.
  • Relate to children, parents, and staff in a professional, loving, and respectful manner at all times.

Compensation:
Starting at $25, based on education and experience
Employment Type:
Full-Time Benefits:
Sick pay, paid holidays plus one week paid during Spring Break closure and one week paid during Christmas week closure, retirement, education reimbursement after 1 year of employment, annual performance review with pay increases, childcare discount.
Hours:
7:30-4:30 or 8:30-5:30 Monday-Friday One Love Childcare Center has both Infant/Toddler Program as well as a Preschool Program. Each program is monitored by the Director. The Preschool teacher will report directly to the Director.
