Job Summary We are seeking a warm, energetic, and passionate Parent & Me Class Instructor to lead engaging, play-based classes designed for parents, caregivers, and their young children (ages 0-5). In this role, you will create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment where families can play, learn, explore, and connect together. Using our thoughtfully designed curriculum, you'll guide developmentally appropriate activities including music, movement, sensory play, stories, crafts, and early learning experiences while encouraging meaningful interactions between children and their caregivers. Classes and lesson plans are already created, allowing you to focus on creating a positive, engaging experience for every family. This is a paid opportunity to make a lasting impact during the early years of childhood by fostering confidence, curiosity, connection, and community—one class at a time. Responsibilities Lead engaging, play-based parent-and-me classes for children ages 0-5 using The Tot Lot's provided lesson plans and curriculum. Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment where children and caregivers feel comfortable, supported, and excited to participate. Facilitate developmentally appropriate activities including music, movement, sensory play, stories, crafts, games, and early learning experiences. Encourage meaningful interaction between children and their caregivers while fostering a sense of community among participating families. Adapt activities as needed to accommodate varying ages, developmental stages, and individual needs within each class. Prepare and organize class materials before each session and ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and ready for families. Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging environment by following all health, safety, and emergency procedures. Build positive relationships with families by greeting participants, answering questions, and providing exceptional customer service. Represent The Tot Lot's mission and values by creating a positive, professional, nurturing, and memorable experience for every family who walks through our doors. Work collaboratively with The Tot Lot team to create a positive, supportive, and fun experience for every family. Requirements Experience working with children ages 0-5 in a preschool, daycare, classroom, enrichment program, childcare, recreation, or similar setting preferred. A background in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Recreation, or a related field is preferred but not required. A warm, energetic, patient, and engaging personality with a genuine passion for working with young children and their families. Comfortable leading groups of children and caregivers while creating a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with both children and adults. Ability to follow provided lesson plans while adapting activities to meet the needs of different ages, developmental stages, and learning styles. Ability to sit, kneel, bend, dance, sing, move around the classroom, and actively participate in floor-based play and movement activities. Reliable, organized, punctual, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team. Must successfully pass a background check before employment.
