We are committed to providing high-quality early childhood education and creating a nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a licensed childcare center, a strong understanding of child development, and a genuine passion for working with toddlers. Qualifications Associate degree in Early Childhood Education preferred Minimum of 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education At least one year of experience working in a licensed childcare center Candidates without an ECE degree must be willing to enroll in school and work toward earning an associate degree Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred Ability to provide three professional references Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation standards is a plus Knowledge of the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) and DOTS is preferred Strong communication, organization, and classroom-management skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Responsibilities Create and maintain a warm, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support children's physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development Adapt daily routines and learning experiences to meet the individual needs and interests of each child Maintain weekly and monthly lesson plans and classroom activities Supervise children closely and ensure their safety at all times Use positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior-management strategies Observe children and document their development and progress Build positive, professional relationships with families and communicate regularly about their children's experiences and development Encourage family involvement and participation in the classroom Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and well-equipped learning environment Include children with special needs in a positive, supportive, and respectful manner Follow all center policies, procedures, licensing requirements, and NAEYC standards Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing program improvement Hourly wage will be based on education, experience, and qualifications.
