In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe transition at the end of each day, maintaining a nurturing environment for children, and supporting classroom staff with closing procedures. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere for children, families, and team members alike. Duties Assist with child supervision during the afternoon hours, ensuring safety and engagement until pick-up time Support classroom staff with closing routines, including tidying up activities and preparing materials for the next day Conduct safety checks of the classroom environment, including verifying that all areas are secure and clean Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's daily activities, behavior, and any concerns that arise during the shift Follow mandated reporting laws by observing and documenting any incidents or concerns related to child welfare Assist with diapering, potty training, or infant care as needed while maintaining proper hygiene standards Support behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions among children Qualifications Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques Certifications such as First Aid, Pediatric First Aid, CPR, or Childcare training preferred but not required; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is a plus.
