Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Aftercare Assistant to join our vibrant educational team from 4:00pm to 5:45pm. In this role, you will support the ongoing development and well-being of children after school hours, creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. Responsibilities Supervise children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Facilitate engaging activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, and educational projects that promote creativity and social skills Manage behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies Support children with homework or tutoring needs to reinforce learning and build confidence Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment that encourages exploration and learning Collaborate with colleagues to plan age-appropriate programs aligned with developmental goals Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR certification requirements, and emergency response plans to ensure a secure environment for all children Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols (training can be provided if needed) Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively Experience facilitating youth group activities or camp experiences is advantageous Ability to work outdoors when necessary and adapt to various activity settings Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members in a professional manner Join us in creating a joyful afterschool environment where children feel supported to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
