Child Development Associate Certification Full Job Description Early Childhood Educator Pay:

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and meet, or be actively working toward, the educational and credential requirements applicable to their assigned position. Because St. Michael's operates a center-based, EHS/State-Funded program licensed by the Delaware Office of Child Care Licensing (OCCL), the following qualifications apply:

Preschool Educators:

Each preschool classroom with State-Funded seats must have at least one educator who possesses all of the following: DEEDS Certificate An associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education; or a related field (non ECE Degrees must have 9 ECE Credits on their transcript)

Infant and Toddler Lead Educators:

All infant/toddler educators in a state-funded infant or toddler classroom must have all of the following: DEEDS Certificate An Infant-Toddler Child Development Associate® (CDA) credential.

Assistant Early Childhood Educators and Additional Classroom Staff:

Educators used to meet the required State-Funded classroom ratio must meet at least one of the following qualifications: DEEDS Certificate A current CDA credential; Current enrollment in an ECE associate or bachelor's degree program; or Current enrollment in a CDA program that will be completed within one year of hire. Applicants must also meet or be eligible to meet all applicable Delaware OCCL and DEEDS qualification requirements for their assigned position. Candidates who are not yet fully credentialed must be willing to enroll in and actively participate in an approved educational or credentialing pathway right away. Preferred Qualifications Two years of childcare or early childhood education experience Delaware DEEDS Early Childhood Certificate at the Intern, Assistant Teacher, or Teacher level Associate or Bachelor's Degree in ECE or a related field (non ECE Degrees must have 9 ECE Credits on their transcript) Current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential Current CPR and First Aid certification Experience working in a licensed early childhood education program Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children Additional Requirements English proficiency Flexibility in shift times Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, educators, and administrators Commitment to maintaining all required credentials, professional development hours, and training Ability to work on-site in Wilmington, Delaware Compensation Salaries are commensurate with education, credentials, and years of relevant experience.
