experience as a child care or school age teacher. An associate's degree is a plus! Certification in "Delaware First" (DEEDS) Lead Teacher. Please note that the Delaware First DEEDS Certificate is required.Age Requirement:
Must be eighteen (18) years of age. Must meet Delaware qualifications/requirements as established by the Office of Childcare Licensing- State of Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families. Must obtain certification in First Aid, CPR, and Administration of Medication within three (3) months of starting date of employment with BCC/BLC and maintain current certifications in each, throughout employment. Responsibilities
- Implement classroom management strategies to create a positive learning environment for school-age children.
- Utilize experience working with children to engage students in educational and recreational activities.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote literacy and math skills.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative learning environment.
- Utilize childcare experience to provide a safe and nurturing space for children in the program.
- Incorporate knowledge of childhood development to support the growth and well-being of each student.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with special education requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the school's educational goals.
- Utilize CPR certification to ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the program.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude while promoting a love for learning in school-age children.
