Duties Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, math, physical activity, and social-emotional development. Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and positive behavior management. Conduct regular assessments of child development to tailor instruction and support early intervention strategies when needed. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns. Maintain detailed lesson plans, classroom records, and documentation in compliance with childcare standards and mandated reporting laws. Manage classroom activities to ensure safety, engagement, and adherence to health guidelines such as first aid and CPR protocols. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom management techniques, and best practices in early childhood education. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in daycare or preschool settings; familiarity with toddler care is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and behavior management techniques. Experience with curriculum development, literacy education, standardized testing preparation, and physical education activities for young children. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is preferred. Ability to follow mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations. Classroom management skills that foster a positive learning environment while ensuring safety and compliance with childcare standards.
