Mom's Morning Out Assistants will be enthusiastic and engaging bridge-builders to children, parents, and caregivers. They will have a driving passion for cultivating a vibrant, Christ-centered, gospel-empowered faith in toddlers and preschoolers (ages 2-4). Assistants help run the Mom's Morning Out program under the leadership of the Program Director. They assist with room preparation, individual child support, activity execution, and room restoration to create a smooth, loving, Christ-centered morning.

Position Compensation:

$17/hr at 16 hours/week (Mon - Thu, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM). September-May with school holidays off.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Collaboration:

Collaborate with MMO Director in implementing Jesus-focused and developmentally appropriate curriculum for Mom's Morning Out. Set-Up & Tear-Down (8:30-9:00 AM & 12:00-12:30 PM): Arrive early to prepare stations, toys, crafts, and snacks; remain after pick-up to clean, sanitize, reset toys, and prep for the next day.

Classroom Support & Supervision:

Assist the Director during whole-group instruction; facilitate small-group craft, table, or sensory activities; maintain continuous visual supervision of children.

Direct Care & Hygiene:

Assist with potty trips, diapering (for 2-year-olds), handwashing, snack preparation, and comforting children with separation anxiety.

Classroom Safety & Playground Supervision:

Help manage transitions between the classroom, restroom, and outdoor playground, keeping safety and proper supervisor-to-child ratios paramount.

Policy Compliance:

Ensure the safety and security of all children participating in the ministry programs, implementing all policies and procedures of Indian River Presbyterian Church.

Desired Gifts/Competencies:

A warm, encouraging Christian heart with a love for toddlers and preschoolers. Active stamina and physical agility (able to sit on the floor, bend, lift up to 30 lbs, and move quickly outdoors). Experience with engaging the social, emotional, creative, and spiritual needs of kids and families. Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred.

Position Qualifications:

Must cultivate and live out of a thriving relationship with Jesus with a demonstrated commitment to a faithful Christian lifestyle. Must exhibit a God-given calling to and passion for kids and families. Must agree and adhere to the Essential Tenets and Constitution of Indian River Presbyterian Church. Must be at least 18 years old. Must possess or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification upon hire. Must pass a background screening and meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency.
