Preschool Teacher

Job Description

Sunshine Stars Academy is looking for a caring, dependable, and engaged Preschool Teacher to join our team. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children and understands that a great classroom takes more than keeping children busy. It takes intentional teaching, preparation, communication, and teamwork. What You'll Do Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for young children Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development Follow the school's curriculum and weekly themes while creating meaningful learning experiences Engage with children throughout the day through conversation, play, exploration, and guided activities Observe children's development and recognize individual strengths, interests, and areas for growth Maintain accurate and timely classroom documentation, including required logs, attendance, daily records, and other documentation Complete required Brightwheel updates and family communication consistently Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom throughout the day Assist with classroom cleaning, sanitizing, organization, and end-of-day classroom responsibilities Follow all health, safety, supervision, licensing, and school procedures Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, families, and coworkers Work collaboratively with your co-teacher and the larger SSA team Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development Take ownership of your classroom and contribute positively to the overall school environment What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Warm and patient with young children Engaged and genuinely enjoys being in the classroom Creative and able to turn everyday moments into learning opportunities Reliable and responsible with strong follow-through Organized and comfortable keeping up with classroom documentation and daily responsibilities A team player who communicates well and is willing to help where needed Professional in their interactions with children, families, and coworkers Comfortable taking initiative and maintaining a classroom without needing constant direction Qualifications Must have a high school diploma or equivalent Must have DCF 45 hours. CDA, FCCPC, VPK-Credential or a degree in an education related field is highly preferred Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to pass a background check. Must be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification if not already certified. Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, including classroom experience with toddlers and early learners. Knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention techniques, and special education practices. Bilingual preferred
Pay:
From $15.00 per hour
