Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Vanderbilt Learning Center serves children and families in PreK-2, PreK-3, PreK-4 and Kindergarten. We are looking to hire experienced Preschool Assistants in PK2 (M-F), PK3 (MWF) and PK4 (M-F) to help us keep growing. If you're a loving, dedicated and nurturing educator, apply today! The Vanderbilt Learning Center (VLC) is a ministry of Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church (VPC). The Learning Center Team works closely with the church staff and operates under the watchful eye and loving heart of the director. The team consists of parents, teachers and staff working together to support school operations, raise funds for educational initiatives, generate opportunities for student enrichment, and create a nurturing environment for both the enrolled students and their families. There is great joy in the daily work of building strong academic foundations and positive attitudes toward God, self, friends, family and learning. Vision Statement The Vanderbilt Learning Center provides young children ages two through six with meaningful opportunities to grow and develop with their peers in a high-quality, nurturing, faith-based environment. Its small group instruction, artistic enrichments and family-oriented programming ensure every child and family a joyful learning experience. Mission Statement The students, families and staff of the Vanderbilt Learning Center, a ministry of Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church, are committed to becoming more thoughtful, caring and intelligent as we delight in our educational journey. We are getting to know God in our lives and working toward creating a more compassionate world. The Learning Center is a program for the whole child — providing a service to the community through the highest early childhood education to meet the physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs of each individual child in a loving, Christian environment.

Preschool Assistant, Vanderbilt Learning Center (VLC) Reports to:
Director of Christian Education, Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church & Learning Center Salary:
$18-$20 per hour — exact salary is calculated based upon education, experience and credentials.
Typical Hours:
Part-time position from 8:15a-1:00p Monday - Friday for 10 months during the school year beginning August 4, 2026 through May 28, 2027. VLC follows the Collier County Public Schools academic calendar. Afternoons and evenings free to attend to personal dependents and responsibilities.

Inquire Within Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
High school diploma/GED required. 45 hours of DCF mandated training, CPR and first aid. Can be completed while employed. Successful completion of 10 hours of in-service training annually. (Maintain all credentials and certifications.) Ability to engage, lift and care for children ages 2-6 years (approximately 50 pounds). Ability to be creative in classroom management and curriculum. Demonstrate compassion, patience, grace, flexibility, creativity and strong leadership in a fun, loving, family-oriented work environment. Degree in education and prior experience in a licensed early childcare education program preferred. Participate in team/staff meetings. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with teaching team, classroom assistants and families to create a positive environment for all. Support other teachers by sharing creative ideas and listen to others with an open heart and mind when they share their ideas. Respect the cultural differences and socioeconomic diversity of all children and families. Engage in special ministry events and VLC Parent Team events including Trunk or Treat, Spring Fling, Family Dinner Nights and concerts. Work Together!
