Duties Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum plans that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and childhood development principles. Lead daily classroom activities, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for toddlers and preschoolers. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques, fostering respect and cooperation among children. Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress, address concerns, and promote active family involvement in the learning process. Conduct assessments aligned with standardized testing where applicable to monitor developmental milestones and tailor instruction accordingly. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or aides, providing guidance on classroom management and child welfare best practices. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws, health and safety regulations such as first aid and CPR certifications, and early intervention protocols to support child welfare. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in early childhood education settings, including preschool or toddler care environments. Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management tailored for young learners. Knowledge of special education needs, early intervention strategies, and behavior management techniques. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Certification in first aid and CPR; familiarity with childhood development standards is preferred. Experience teaching physical education or integrating movement activities into daily routines is a plus. Demonstrated understanding of mandated reporting laws and child welfare practices to ensure a safe learning environment.
