Childcare Floater Teacher - Flexible Schedule Flexible Schedule | Monday-Friday | Hours Between 8:00 AM-8:00 PM Grayson Academy is seeking a dependable and highly flexible Childcare Floater Teacher to provide classroom coverage throughout our center. This position does not have a permanently assigned classroom or a set daily schedule . Hours will vary from week to week based on planned staff absences, vacations, scheduled time off, staffing needs, and last-minute call-outs. Applicants must have the flexibility to work varying shifts between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday-Friday and be comfortable working with children of all ages, from 6 weeks through 12 years old . Weekly hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on the needs of the center. Hours will not exceed 40 hours per week. Schedule This is a flexible-hour position with no set daily schedule or guaranteed number of weekly hours . Shifts may be scheduled in advance to cover: Staff vacations Planned days off Training Meetings Other scheduled staffing needs The Floater Teacher may also be contacted for additional shifts when last-minute call-outs or unexpected staffing needs occur. Applicants must be available and flexible to work various shifts between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday-Friday . Some weeks may have more scheduled hours than others depending on staffing needs. Compensation Starting pay is based on your verified Georgia Professional Development System (GA PDS)

GA PDS Level 1: $12.00/hour GA PDS Level 2: $13.00/hour GA PDS Level 3: $14.00/hour GA PDS Level 4: $15.00/hour GA PDS Levels 5 & 6: $16.00/hour GA PDS Level 7: $17.00/hour GA PDS Level 8: $18.00/hour GA PDS Level 9: $19.00/hour GA PDS Level 10: $20.00/hour Credentials and GA PDS Career Levels must be verified before the corresponding starting rate is applied. Employees scheduled to work until 8:00 PM receive an additional $1.00/hour closing differential for those applicable hours/shifts. Annual performance evaluations are conducted, with opportunities for merit-based raises based on job performance and evaluation scores. Responsibilities Provide classroom coverage for planned staff absences, vacations, scheduled time off, meetings, training, call-outs, and other staffing needs. Work with children ranging in age from 6 weeks through 12 years old . Work in different classrooms based on the daily needs of the center. Transition between classrooms during the same shift when needed. Maintain required staff-to-child ratios while assigned to a classroom. Actively supervise and engage with children. Follow each classroom's established schedule, routines, and lesson plans. Assist with feeding, diapering, potty training, nap time, outdoor play, learning activities, meals, and classroom transitions as appropriate for the age group. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment. Communicate professionally with teachers, management, children, and families. Follow Bright from the Start licensing regulations, Quality Rated standards, and Grayson Academy policies. Assist with cleaning, organization, classroom preparation, and other center needs when needed. Perform other duties as assigned to help the center operate safely and smoothly. What We're Looking For Experience working in a licensed childcare center preferred. Must be comfortable working with all age groups from 6 weeks through 12 years old . Must have flexible availability between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday-Friday . Must understand that weekly schedules and hours will vary. Must be willing to accept different shift times based on staffing needs. Must be comfortable being contacted for additional hours when last-minute call-outs occur. Dependable, punctual, and responsive. Able to adjust quickly to different classrooms, teachers, children, and routines. Patient, nurturing, energetic, and professional. Comfortable with diapering and potty training when working with younger children. Able to follow classroom routines and expectations without constant direction. Strong understanding of active supervision and child safety. Team-oriented and willing to help wherever needed. The purpose of this position is to provide flexible staffing coverage throughout the center. Hours will be scheduled based on planned staffing needs, with opportunities for additional hours when last-minute call-outs occur.

If you require the same schedule and a guaranteed number of hours every week, this position will not be the right fit.
Pay:
$13.00 - $20.00 per hour
