Essentials:
Be able and willing to represent the center in the most positive manner with prospective, former, and current children, clients, suppliers, and the community we serve. Regular and consistent attendance at work. Assist in carrying out experiences in all areas of development, adjusting them to meet the needs of the individual child and the group. Be responsible for and assist in providing, maintaining, and monitoring a safe, clean, orderly, inviting, and developmentally appropriate learning environment in the classroom and playground Be focused on the children at all times, actively involved with the children during meals, snack, including eating meals with the children, and modeling good eating habits. Communicate in a positive and appropriate manner when talking with children, parents, other staff, or professionals, respectfully making eye contact and using appropriate voice tones. Understand and use Positive Guidance/Behavior Techniques, while anticipating problems. Maintain the necessary training hours and attend extra training to meet Professional Development Plan as well as attend required training sessions, staff meetings, and other meetings as scheduled. Responsible for the general supervision of the children and staff in the classroom. Develop and maintain quality parent/staff relationships and act as a liaison between parents and the Director, when appropriate. Qualifications
  • Classroom management skills
  • Experience working with children in a child care center setting
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children and colleagues
  • Background in childcare or early childhood education
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques
  • Experience in early childhood education or childhood development
