Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistants to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of childhood development. This role involves supporting the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children in our daycare setting. Daycare Assistants will play a vital role in fostering the social, emotional, and educational growth of our young learners. Responsibilities Assist with daily activities and routines, including meal times, nap times, and playtime. Support the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities that promote learning and development. Provide care for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, exploration, and social interaction. Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning. Monitor children's behavior and implement behavior management strategies as needed. Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and any concerns that may arise. Collaborate with team members to create an inclusive environment for children with disabilities or special needs. Qualifications Experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting is preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices. Familiarity with first aid procedures; certification is a plus. Experience in special education or working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Strong classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment. Ability to engage effectively with children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Previous experience in caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting is beneficial. Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues effectively. • Candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
• Candidate must possess a Criminal History Unit background check or have the ability to pass one upon employment.
• Candidate must be able to work 4-10 hour shifts each week, 8am-6pm.
• Candidate must have valid Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certification or have the ability to obtain certification.
