Bilingual Toddler Teacher (Ages 1-2) Position Summary At Luna's, we believe children learn best through meaningful relationships, play, exploration, and language-rich experiences. The Bilingual Toddler Teacher creates a warm, nurturing, and engaging classroom where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to become confident, curious learners. Teachers support the development of both languages by naturally incorporating them into everyday routines, conversations, songs, stories, and hands-on activities. Responsibilities Provide a safe, loving, and responsive environment that supports each child's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate bilingual lessons using play-based and hands-on learning experiences. Speak consistently in the program's designated language model to encourage natural language acquisition. Foster children's independence by encouraging self-help skills such as feeding, handwashing, cleaning up, and making simple choices. Build strong, positive relationships with children through patience, respect, encouragement, and responsive caregiving. Maintain predictable daily routines that help children feel secure while allowing flexibility to meet individual needs. Support early literacy through books, storytelling, music, rhymes, fingerplays, and daily conversations in both languages. Create engaging learning centers that encourage exploration, creativity, sensory experiences, and problem-solving. Observe and document each child's developmental progress and communicate milestones and concerns with families. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom that reflects children's interests and supports learning. Partner with families through respectful, consistent communication and encourage family participation in the classroom community. Collaborate with fellow teachers to maintain a positive, professional, and supportive work environment. Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and Luna's policies and procedures. Qualifications Fluency in English and the program's second language (Spanish preferred, if applicable). High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA, associate's, or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. Experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare center or preschool. Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices. CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain before employment). Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with young children throughout the day. Successfully complete required background checks and meet all state licensing requirements. Strong communication, organization, classroom management, and teamwork skills.
