Job Description

Position Summary Mercy Road Academy Teachers are responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered classroom environment where children ages 3 through 5 can grow spiritually, emotionally, socially, and academically. Teachers implement age-appropriate curriculum, build positive relationships with students and families, and work collaboratively with team members to uphold state licensing standards and the mission of Mercy Road Church. Key Responsibilities Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom aligned with developmentally appropriate practices Plan and implement faith-based, age-appropriate lessons and activities that support children's growth in all learning domains Build strong, respectful relationships with children and families; communicate regularly with parents about student progress Supervise children at all times and ensure accurate child-to-staff ratios are maintained Support positive behavior guidance rooted in grace, love, and consistency Maintain a clean, organized classroom and support shared spaces and routines (e.g., mealtimes, transitions, rest time) Complete daily documentation (attendance, meals, incidents, etc.) and contribute to assessments and parent conferences Participate in team meetings, training, staff devotions, and professional development Support center-wide activities and assist other classrooms as needed Uphold all licensing regulations, health and safety protocols, and center policies Mission Alignment Represent Mercy Road Academy with kindness, grace, and excellence, reflecting the mission and values of Mercy Road Church in all interactions. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; CDA required, Associate's, or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred Experience working with children ages 3-5 in an early childhood or preschool setting CPR/First Aid certification Universal Precautions, Sleep Safe, and ILead trainings Ability to pass background checks and meet all state childcare licensing requirements Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills Physical ability to lift 30 lbs, sit on the floor, and actively engage with young children A heart for ministry and a commitment to creating a Christ-centered environment Nice‑to‑Haves Familiarity with PTQ, licensing standards, or CACFP Experience with play-based or faith-integrated curriculum Active faith and alignment with the mission of
Mercy Road Church Benefits PTO:

Pay:
$15.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
