Job Summary Gateway Developmental Learning Center is looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and caring School Age Break Care Teacher to join our team! This position works with children ages 5-12 during school breaks and provides a fun, safe, and engaging environment where children can play, explore, create, and build friendships. Duties Provide a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children ages 5-12. Plan and participate in fun, age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, and learning experiences. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, field trips, and daily activities. Build positive relationships with children and encourage cooperation, independence, and positive social skills. Support children's individual needs while maintaining an inclusive and welcoming classroom. Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment. Communicate professionally and positively with families and coworkers. Follow Gateway's health, safety, supervision, and classroom policies. Work as part of a team to provide high-quality care and education. A Schedule That Offers Flexibility This position provides full-time hours during Anderson Community Schools and Anderson Preparatory Academy school breaks , making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with school-age children and wants a consistent schedule during breaks. There are also opportunities to work part-time when school is in session , including: Before-school care After-school care Cross-training and assisting in other classrooms throughout the center Depending on your availability and Gateway's staffing needs, there may be opportunities to build a more consistent schedule throughout the year. What We're Looking For Patient, dependable, and responsible Enthusiastic about working with children Creative and able to make everyday activities fun and engaging Comfortable working with children ages 5-12 A positive team player Able to communicate effectively with children, families, and coworkers Willing to learn and grow as an early childhood professional Requirements Must be able to pass a required fingerprint background check. Must be able to pass a required drug screen. Experience working with children is preferred. Education or experience in early childhood education, elementary education, youth development, or a related field is a plus. Must meet all applicable Indiana childcare employment requirements.
