Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that incorporate child development principles, literacy education, math, physical education, and social skills. Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and active learning. Manage classroom activities effectively by applying behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies to maintain a positive atmosphere. Engage in child development instruction tailored to toddlers and preschool-aged children, including early intervention strategies when necessary. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress, discuss concerns, and foster strong home-school connections. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of child progress and incidents. Incorporate special education practices to support children with diverse learning needs and promote inclusive learning experiences. Conduct assessments to monitor developmental milestones and adapt lesson plans accordingly. Maintain current certifications such as first aid and CPR to ensure safety at all times. Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, classroom activities, and school-wide initiatives to enhance the educational experience. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is essential, including preschool or daycare environments. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques. Experience working with children requiring special education or early intervention services is highly valued. Proven ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children to foster a supportive learning community. Knowledge of childhood development stages, behavior management strategies, and early childhood education best practices. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations. Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children is a plus.
