Job Description Update:
Teacher Assistant / Floater (Ages 16+) Castle Country Academics is looking for a dependable, energetic, and caring Junior Teacher Assistant / Floater to join our team in Newburgh, Indiana! This is a great entry-level opportunity for students (ages 16 and older) interested in gaining real-world experience in early childhood education, child care, or teaching.
Key Responsibilities Classroom Support:
Assist lead teachers with daily educational activities, guided play, and storytime across various age groups.
Versatility:
Step into different classrooms (infants through preschool) as a floater to assist during peak hours, transitions, and outdoor play.
Care & Supervision:
Help monitor children during active play, snacks/meals, and rest time to ensure a safe, engaging, and supportive environment.
Routine & Cleanliness:
Help maintain clean, organized, and sanitary classroom spaces, including table setup, toy sanitization, and activity preparation.
Teamwork:
Work closely with lead teachers and staff to build a positive classroom culture.
Qualifications & Requirements Age Requirement:
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Education:
Currently enrolled in high school (or possess a high school diploma/GED). High school students with flexible, after-school, or summer availability are encouraged to apply!
Experience:
Previous experience working with young children (babysitting, tutoring, camp counseling, or volunteering) is a plus.
Certifications:
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to complete training upon hire).
Clearances:
Ability to complete all required state background checks and clearances for childcare facilities.
Key Attributes:
Positive attitude, strong reliability, enthusiasm for working with young kids, patience, and good communication skills.
