Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Child Care Assistant and become a vital part of creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for young children while their parent(s) exercise on site in a separate space. Shifts are typically 4 hours (8 am to 12:15 pm or 3:00-6:45 pm or (Saturday morning 7:45 am to 10:30 am) We need 3 shifts per week at minimum covered (more may be available, depending on your availability). Parents classes are 45 minutes in length and you will cover approximately 3 rotations of classes on your shift. In this role, you will support the Childwatch Lead and caregivers in implementing engaging activities, supervising children, and ensuring their well-being. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster a positive atmosphere where children can learn, play, and thrive. Duties Supervise children during engaging activities and ensure safety Assist with implementing age-appropriate curriculum activities that promote developmental milestones in areas such as social skills, motor skills, and cognitive growth Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized environment conducive to learning and play Communicate positively with parents to foster strong trust and relationships Follow mandated reporting laws by recognizing signs of abuse or neglect and reporting concerns according to legal requirements Support children with special needs by adapting activities and providing individualized care in collaboration with specialists when necessary Maintain accurate attendance records, activity logs, and safety documentation Skills Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices Experience working with children in daycare centers, preschools, or similar settings Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) to respond confidently to emergencies (desired, but not required) Strong classroom management skills to promote positive behavior and create a nurturing environment Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration Ability to handle caregiving responsibilities such as infant care, toddler supervision, and preschool activities with patience and enthusiasm Join us in making a meaningful difference in children's lives and support parent wellness by allowing them to workout while their children are cared for! Pay:
$13.00 - $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 per week
