Metairie Ridge Child Development Center is a part-time preschool serving children ages 12 months to 4 years. For over 50 years, we're proudly served the Old Metairie community with an educational experience grounded in faith and love, balancing fun, exploration, and developmentally appropriate learning. Our Pre-K3 classroom is a play-based, collaborative enviorment where children thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. We expect our Pre-K3 students to build strong foundations that prepare them for Pre-K and beyond.Role Summary:
We are seeking a caring, creative Pre-K3 teacher to co-lead a play-based classroom for 3-year-olds. The ideal candidate is a team player who loves guiding young learned, partners well with co-teachers, and brings curiosity, patience, and organiziation to the classroom.Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based lesson plans across social-emotional, language, early literacy, math, science, and motor skills. Collaborate with your co-teacher to set up engaging center and activities. Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom with consistent routines and positive guidance. Support self-help skills (toileting, handwashing, dressing) and independence Maintain classroom cleanliness and oragnization Supervise children indoors and outdoorsQualifications:
At least 1 year of experience in an early childhood setting Able to pass a background check Genuine love for children and watching them grow Creative, dependable, and collaborative Strong communication and classroom managment skillsPhysical Requirements:
Able to lift 30+ pounds Stand for long periods of time Keep up with active 3-year-olds during outdoor play Bend, kneel, and sit on the floor for classroom tasks Climb stairs as neededBenefits:
