Part-Time Child Care Assistant — Morning or Afternoon Shift Second Home Preschool & Child Care —
Franklin, MA Pay:
$17-$20 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule Options:
Morning:
7:30 AM-12:30
PM Afternoon:
12:30 PM-5:30 PM Monday-Friday Some flexibility available around college/class schedules Second Home Preschool & Child Care is a licensed, home-based Family Child Care program in Franklin, Massachusetts. We are seeking one or two dependable, caring part-time assistants to join our program as enrollment grows this fall. This position is ideal for a college student, education or human-services student, retired educator, parent seeking part-time weekday work, or someone who enjoys working with infants and young children but does not want a traditional full-time childcare-center schedule.
Responsibilities Assist with:
Supervision and care of infants and toddlers Developmentally appropriate play and activities Outdoor play Meals and snacks Diapering and hygiene routines Nap-time routines Cleaning and organization of children's spaces Maintaining a safe, nurturing and positive environment Qualifications Candidates must: Be at least 18 years old Be dependable and punctual Enjoy working closely with young children Be patient, attentive and able to work as part of a small team Meet Massachusetts EEC background check and Family Child Care Assistant requirements Be willing to complete required EEC training Previous childcare or early-childhood experience is preferred but is not required for the right candidate. Students pursuing Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech/Language, Human Services or related fields are strongly encouraged to apply. Why This Position May Be Different This is a small home-based childcare environment rather than a large childcare center. The position offers predictable weekday hours, no nights or weekends, and the ability to choose a morning or afternoon schedule.
