Aug 26, 2026 Job Description Lead Teacher Transitional Pre-K Supervised by the DirectorSupervises:
Teacher Assistant/Student Teacher Responsibilities include but not limited to:- Knowledge of the philosophy of the school
- Safety of the children, including lifting and carrying children as needed
- Functions as a cooperative team member within the classroom and the school
- Observation and evaluation of children in the class. Written evaluations of each child are required
- Planning, supervising and implementing a developmentally appropriate program for the class in accordance with the philosophy and curriculum of the school
- Maintaining open communication with the children's families, including parent conferences and initiating and returning parent phone calls/emails as necessary
- Participation in monthly staff meetings
- Participation in Parent/Teacher Open House, Halloween Party and End of the year picnic
- Maintaining the ordered arrangement, appearance and learning environment of the classroom
- Responsible for accumulating appropriate number of professional development hours per DEEC requirements
- Compliance with all regulations set forth by DEEC or subsequent licensing agency
Minimum Job Requirements:
- 4 courses in Early Childhood Education as approved by DEEC and 9 months of experience in a preschool setting.
Preferred Requirements:
- bachelor's degree in early childhood education All Teachers must always comply the DEEC regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, supplying evidence of the following:
- a physical examination from a physician upon employment and every two years thereafter, stating the employee can perform the above stated job
- Proof of MMR immunity for those born after 1957
- current first aid and CPR certification
- DEEC certification, Lead Teacher
- CORI report and fingerprinting
- As the DEEC regulations change, these requirements will change
