Executive Director About Us Greater Quincy Child Care Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Our mission is to support families by delivering high-quality early childhood education while fostering curiosity, creativity, and social-emotional development. Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic early childhood educator to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating a positive learning environment that encourages each child's individual growth. The early childhood educator will plan and implement age-appropriate activities, ensure children's health and safety, and build positive relationships with families and colleagues. Key Responsibilities Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment. Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities. Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times. Support children's cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom. Observe and document children's progress and communicate with families regularly. Foster positive relationships with parents, guardians, and coworkers. Follow all licensing regulations, organizational policies, and health and safety procedures. Assist children with daily routines, including meals, toileting, rest time, and transitions. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required training.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED. Experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Ability to pass all required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
Preferred:
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Knowledge of child development principles and positive behavior guidance techniques. Experience with lesson planning and developmental assessments. Physical Requirements Lift up to 40 pounds. Sit, stand, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day. Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. $24.00 - $27.50 per hour
