Chesapeake Montessori School in Annapolis, Maryland is seeking a competent candidate to offer support to our two Primary classrooms for the 2026-2027 school year, serving ages 2.5-6 years old. This position entails helping across two classrooms as needed, including cleaning, material making, and assisting children in the classroom and on the playground. The candidate will also facilitate our nap program and parts of our after-school care program. This is a full-time position, Mondays through Fridays, at our Main Campus in Annapolis. Hours are 11 AM - 5 PM. This is a 10-month role that follows our school calendar. The ideal candidate has a desire and commitment to learn about Montessori philosophy. Prior Montessori experience is preferred but not required. The Primary Classroom Support performs the following jobs, but is not limited to this list only: Must be comfortable around, and willing to support, children in varying stages of bathroom independence. This includes changing wet or soiled clothing multiple times daily. Interact with parents and co-workers in a warm, understanding, and respectful manner Support the evolving needs of the children and the lead teacher with a sense of flexibility, as well as attention to detail Communicate clearly and consistently with the lead teacher Continually promote the development of independence in young children Model grace, courtesy, and empathy for children in speech, tone, demeanor, and actions Have a desire and commitment to learn about Montessori philosophy. Prior Montessori experience is preferred but not required. Must have a willingness to accept feedback, and an eagerness to learn and grow!
