Job Description
The Goddard School in Silver Spring is looking for professional educators to help our students learn and grow! We have programs for Infants & Toddlers (0-2 year old), Early Preschoolers (2-3 year old), Preschoolers (3-4 year old), and Prekindergartners (4-5 year old). Students participate in daily lessons in Language Arts, Cognitive Development, Science, Social Sciences, Art, Music, Motor Skills, and Technology. Our faculty help our students to work on average about a year ahead of expectation for their age; our PreK students are doing Kindergarten level work including Guided Reading, STEM projects, and among others.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a warm, safe, and supportive classroom setting.
- Manage classroom activities and ensure effective classroom management.
- Utilize early childhood education principles to create a nurturing learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Implement behavior management strategies to support student learning and development.
- Engage young learners in educational activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and teaching strategies.
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to the needs of young students.
- Utilize communication skills to effectively convey educational concepts to students.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Lead Teachers in Early Preschool (Twos),Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten:
Bachelors Degree Required, BS in Early Childhood Education (or related field) desired. Lead Teachers inInfants/Toddlers:
90 Hour Course required; BS in Early Childhood Education (or related field) desirable.Assistant Teachers:
90 Hour Course, High school diploma; at least 18 years of age.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Lead Teacher:
4-5 years teaching experience in lead teaching position is desired.Assistant Teacher:
2-3 years teaching experience in a preschool environment is desired.OTHER REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for people who truly enjoy and appreciate children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old and have good verbal and written communication skills.
