Job Overview Position Available Starting November 1st! Bright Beginnings Child Care Center in Auburn ME is under new ownership and is looking for an experienced Toddler teacher! Our newly renovated classroom will be ready and in need of a caring and hardworking teacher with patience, kindness, and the ability to teach and nurture a group of children ages 1 1/2-3 years. Duties Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans tailored to toddler development stages, incorporating literacy education, early intervention strategies, and age-appropriate activities. Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and social skills among toddlers. Manage daily classroom routines including diapering, feeding, nap times, and outdoor play while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children's progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones through updates and parent-teacher conferences. Utilize behavior management techniques to guide positive behavior and address challenges effectively while supporting each child's emotional well-being. Collaborate with colleagues to develop lesson plans that incorporate Montessori methods or other educational philosophies suited for toddlers. Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and health regulations by maintaining accurate records of incidents, health concerns, and developmental assessments. Keep a clean and orderly classroom, bathroom, and work space. Teach and promote self help skills with the children as well. Potty training and diaper changing knowledge needed and you will be trained extensively. Qualifications Proven experience working with young children in a childcare setting Strong knowledge of child development principles, childhood education best practices, and early childhood curriculum development. Certification in first aid and CPR required; additional certifications in special education or early intervention are advantageous and may result in a higher pay rate. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners effectively. Familiarity with classroom management techniques, behavior management strategies, and standardized testing relevant to early childhood education. Ability to plan lessons that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical activity, and social-emotional learning aligned with preschool standards. Experience working with children who have special needs or require additional support is a plus. Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
