Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Childcare Assistant to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will support the development and well-being of young children by assisting lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. Your enthusiasm and compassion will help foster positive growth experiences for children during their formative years, ensuring they receive quality care and educational support. Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including preschool and toddler care. Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment conducive to learning and play. Engage with children through play, educational exercises, and social interactions to encourage their emotional and cognitive growth. Observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and needs to inform teaching strategies and communicate with parents or guardians as needed. Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in accordance with legal requirements. Support children with special needs or disabilities by applying inclusive teaching practices and working closely with specialists when necessary. Maintain current certifications such as pediatric first aid and CPR to respond effectively in emergencies. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and behavior management techniques. Certification in first aid, pediatric first aid, or CPR is required; ongoing training is encouraged. Familiarity with special education strategies and experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus. Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, children, and families. Ability to follow safety protocols diligently and adhere to mandated reporting laws.
