Job Description
Part-Time Afternoon Teacher Early Explorers Learning Center is looking for a dependable, caring, and energetic afternoon teacher to join our team. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of being a reliable member of a team. Schedule Part-time afternoon hours (schedule to be discussed during the interview). Responsibilities Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. Supervise and interact with children of various ages, with the majority of time spent with our preschool and school-age classrooms. Assist teachers throughout the center as needed, providing support wherever it's needed most. Help children develop social skills, independence, and positive behaviors through play and daily routines. Assist with potty training, including toileting accidents and hygiene. Change diapers when assigned to younger classrooms. Maintain active supervision of children at all times. Help prepare classrooms for afternoon activities and end-of-day pickup. Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing duties, including sweeping, mopping, disinfecting toys and surfaces, taking out trash, and helping ensure classrooms remain clean and organized. Follow all Missouri childcare licensing regulations and Early Explorers Learning Center policies. Qualifications Must be dependable, punctual, and have reliable transportation. Trustworthy with a strong work ethic. Comfortable working with children ranging from infants through school age. Willing to assist wherever needed throughout the center. Positive attitude and ability to work well with a team. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and be active throughout the workday. Pass all required state background screenings.
