Job Description

Infant/Toddler Teacher Play N Learn Academy | Great Falls, MT About the Position Play N Learn Academy is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Infant/Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team. We believe that even our youngest learners deserve intentional, high-quality education in a nurturing environment where every interaction supports their growth and development. This position is much more than providing care. Our Infant and Toddler Teachers build meaningful relationships, create engaging learning experiences, observe developmental milestones, and intentionally support children's cognitive, language, physical, and social-emotional development through responsive caregiving and play-based learning. If you enjoy being on the floor with children, creating meaningful learning experiences, and making a lasting impact during the most important years of development, we'd love to meet you. Responsibilities Build secure, responsive relationships with infants, toddlers, and their families. Provide a safe, nurturing, and emotionally supportive classroom environment where every child feels valued. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities aligned with the Montana Early Learning Standards (MELS) and Play N Learn Academy's curriculum. Create intentional learning opportunities through sensory play, music, movement, language experiences, art, outdoor exploration, and hands-on discovery. Support children's development in communication, motor skills, social-emotional learning, cognitive development, and self-help skills through everyday routines and play. Complete daily observations and developmental assessments to monitor children's progress and individualize learning experiences. Maintain predictable routines that support feeding, diapering, sleeping, and transitions while promoting independence and secure attachments. Keep children actively engaged throughout the day with meaningful interactions rather than passive supervision. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom that encourages exploration and discovery. Communicate daily with families regarding children's routines, milestones, and classroom experiences. Work collaboratively with coworkers to ensure consistency, teamwork, and high-quality care throughout the program. Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, sanitation procedures, and Play N Learn Academy policies. Qualifications Experience working with infants and toddlers in an early childhood setting preferred. CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, or degree preferred (or willingness to obtain). Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices for children birth through three years. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, and coworkers. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and actively participate in children's play throughout the day. CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. What We're Looking For Our ideal teacher understands that learning begins at birth. They recognize that diaper changes become language opportunities, mealtimes build independence, floor play develops motor skills, and everyday interactions shape children's brains. We are looking for someone who is warm, patient, dependable, and enthusiastic about creating intentional learning experiences. The successful candidate enjoys staying engaged with children, believes in learning through play, values strong family partnerships, and takes pride in creating an organized, joyful classroom where every child can thrive. Why Join Play N Learn Academy? At Play N Learn Academy, we believe our teachers are professionals who make a lifelong impact. We invest in our staff through ongoing professional development, collaborative teamwork, and opportunities for growth. Our educators work together to create meaningful experiences that support every child's development while building lasting relationships with families. If you're passionate about early childhood education and believe that the first three years of life are filled with opportunities for learning, we'd love to welcome you to our team.
