Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans that promote literacy, math skills, social skills, and overall childhood development based on best practices and educational standards such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, rest periods, and field trips to ensure safety and positive behavior. Support classroom management by encouraging appropriate behavior through positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies aligned with educational compliance and regulation understanding. Help prepare classroom materials, educational technologies (computers and other tools), and learning resources to facilitate engaging lessons. Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, behavior, and needs to foster strong home-school connections. Collaborate with teachers on lesson delivery, student assessments, tutoring, mentoring, and individualized support for children with disabilities or autism. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards; assist with first aid and CPR procedures when necessary. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in early childhood education settings or classroom environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development theories including Montessori or other specialized approaches like special education or literacy education is advantageous. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, colleagues, and specialists. Familiarity with classroom behavior management techniques and educational compliance regulations such as ESSA. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism demonstrates your ability to support diverse learners. Proficiency in using computers for educational technologies and documentation purposes.
