Ready to put your Preschool Teaching and Administrative skills to work, both in the classroom and behind the scenes. Is a strong leader and a strong collaborator, knowing success comes through team work. Brings related education and experience that equips them to work in the classroom as needed and to work as a team with Management, Administrative, and Classroom Staff.
Position Overview:
Duties and Responsibilities 1. Responsible for assisting the Education Manager and/or Disabilities Manager with duties as assigned at all three sites (Kalispell, Columbia Falls, Eureka). 2. Understand and adhere to job descriptions for teacher and teacher aide, acting as a Substitute in classrooms as needed. 3. Learn and utilize all program-selected curricula. 4. Adhere to agency policy on positive discipline. 5. Use positive, developmentally appropriate teacher/child interaction strategies. 6. Provide an environment of acceptance, which helps each child develop a positive self-concept, enhance individual strengths, and develop social relationships. 7. Work together with parents, staff, and administration to ensure active and appropriate parent involvement in all aspects of the program. 8. Stay abreast of current advances in Child Development theories and educational techniques. 9. Renew goals with Education Manager for completion and progress of AA/BA plans. 10. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications 1. AA/BA/Masters in early childhood (defined as a college degree with a program of study which includes 6 or more courses in early childhood education and/or child development) with experience in teaching preschool children. 2. OR college degree with experience in teaching preschool children and willingness to obtain 6 courses in early childhood within 6 months of hire. (Company funded education.) 3. OR college degree with experience in teaching preschool children and willingness to obtain CDA within 6 months of hire. (Company funded education.) 4. Must be able to perform the physical expectations of working with 3-5 year olds. 5. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications 1. Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices curriculum implementation. 2. Knowledge of team teaching strategies. 3. Experience working with families. 4. Experience in a Head Start setting. 5. Experience working with low-income populations. 6. Computer literacy.
