Job Description
First Presbyterian Child Development Center - Burlington (CDC) seeks dynamic Lead Teachers to professionally serve and represent the CDC, its students, families, and faculty by providing unparalleled, high-quality early childhood learning experiences and daily leadership. The Lead Teacher shall embrace an understanding of team ministry and an attitude that exemplifies working as one within the school organization. The Lead Teacher should also encompass a committed understanding, competence, and willingness to embrace the Child Development Center's family and work to plan, develop, organize, implement, manage, and coordinate said program. This includes but is not limited to teaching and supervising students in the classroom, seeking further knowledge and understanding of our program's standards, and a willingness to attend required conferences, trainings, and seminars. Position - Lead Teacher/Assistant Teacher Commitment to fostering early education in a safe, positive, and enriching environment. Passion for working with young students and in the field of early education. Excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative. Capacity to remain flexible and work under pressure and deadlines with constant interruptions. Ability to demonstrate proficiency in technical and job knowledge aspects of a Lead Teacher to achieve a high level of performance with an ability and desire to learn and gain further knowledge and skills inclusive of pre-service and in-service training requirements. Ability to demonstrate respect, dignity, and integrity in interpersonal relationships and demonstrate positive personal coping and wellness strategies. Demeanor to exhibit a disposition that demonstrates enthusiasm and excellent interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, families, and the community. To lead the Assistant Teacher in classroom routines, organizing and maintaining classroom activity areas, materials, and equipment, and maintaining all required reports pertaining to the classroom (attendance, CACFP, etc.). Establish and maintain effective, clear, concise, and collaborative communication with parents/families. Demonstrate excellent communications with Administration and staff to create a professional atmosphere. Ability to discern and protect the confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties and use discretion in sharing such information within legal confines.
