As a vital team member, you will provide seamless support across various classroom settings, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children of different ages. Responsibilities Assure the welfare, health and safety of the children Feed, change diapers and attend to the needs of each child in your care Follow teacher prepared plans of age-appropriate activities for children in care Provide love and affection to each child Keep director informed of any problems or needs Maintain constant supervision of children in your care Keep the director advised of equipment and materials that need to be repaired and replaced Take daily attendance and keep all required reports pertaining to group Establish and maintain effective communication with parents Build good communications with other staff to create a loving, Christian atmosphere Follow teacher prepared plans of age-appropriate activities for children in your care Attend training as needed Pass a Criminal Background Check and TB Test Take CPR and First Aid training, as needed Understand N.C. Child Care Requirements Follow all N.C. Child Care and Sanitation rules Follow daycare policies Assist teachers in their classroom or with tasks Assist director Follow schedule determined by daycare director. This may include giving teachers a classroom break, other classroom assistance, substituting in a classroom or any other area where assistance is required. Schedule may change daily. Experience Previous experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar caregiving roles is preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices is highly valued. Experience with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions. Familiarity with infant care routines, toddler care practices. Certification in first aid and CPR is a plus; ongoing training in special education or behavior management is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced setting.
