NOTE:
This position requires applicants to have EDU 119, a North Carolina Early Childhood Credential, or an equivalent qualification. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to inspire and nurture young learners in a vibrant educational environment. In this role, you will create engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to the developmental stages of preschool and toddler-aged children, integrating literacy, math, physical education, and social skills. Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and active participation. Manage classroom routines effectively, including behavior management strategies that promote positive interactions and respect among children. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns, ensuring transparency and collaborative support. Conduct child development assessments to monitor growth and tailor instructional approaches accordingly. Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support children with diverse learning needs. Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws and ensure adherence to health and safety standards such as first aid and CPR certifications. Qualifications Proven experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or daycare environments. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, classroom management, and behavior management techniques. Experience with literacy education, standardized testing for early learners, and tutoring is highly desirable. Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and working with children requiring additional support. Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is preferred. Demonstrated ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate physical activity, math concepts, and social-emotional learning.
