Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience working with toddlers or young children in a licensed childcare setting Completion of EDU 119 - Introduction to Early Childhood Education (North Carolina Early Childhood Credential) Strong attention to detail, organization, and classroom management skills Genuine love for children and enthusiasm for supporting their growth and development Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with parents, coworkers, and administrators Dependable, punctual, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team Key Responsibilities Create and maintain a safe, loving, clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment Provide attentive supervision and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of every child Plan and implement age-appropriate learning activities that support children's social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development Establish consistent classroom routines and effectively manage toddler behaviors using positive guidance and redirection Observe children closely and document developmental progress, behaviors, incidents, and other required information accurately Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding their child's daily activities, development, accomplishments, and concerns Build positive, respectful relationships with children and families Work cooperatively with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, handwashing, rest periods, transitions, and other daily care routines Maintain classroom cleanliness and follow all required sanitation, health, safety, and childcare procedures Participate in staff meetings, training, professional development, and center activities Demonstrate patience, flexibility, initiative, professionalism, and a positive attitude Serve as a dependable team player who is willing to assist wherever needed to support the children and the overall success of the center Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who truly enjoys working with toddlers , takes pride in their classroom, pays close attention to details, communicates effectively, and can confidently manage a classroom while creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for children and families.
