15-17.5 hours per week Position Overview LIFE Four Corners Child Development Center is seeking a dependable, nurturing, and experienced Preschool After-School Assistant to join our early childhood education team. This position is ideal for an early childhood professional looking for consistent part-time afternoon hours. The After-School Assistant will support our preschool classrooms during afternoon activities, transitions, and closing routines while maintaining a safe, positive, and engaging environment for children.

Required Qualifications Applicants must have:

Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field OR a current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working with children Previous experience in a preschool, childcare center, daycare, school, or similar setting Ability to work consistently Monday through Friday until 6:00 PM Strong understanding of active supervision and age-appropriate interactions Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team Dependable, punctual, patient, nurturing, and professional demeanor Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and meet New Jersey childcare licensing requirements Responsibilities Provide active supervision of preschool-aged children at all times Support teachers with afternoon classroom routines and transitions Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities, learning centers, outdoor play, and small-group experiences Assist with snack, toileting, handwashing, and other daily routines Support positive behavior and children's social-emotional development Complete accurate child counts and name-to-face supervision Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom Assist with end-of-day classroom and center closing responsibilities Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, families, coworkers, and administration Follow all center policies and applicable New Jersey childcare health, safety, and licensing requirements Compensation $18.00 per hour This is a part-time, in-person position with approximately 15-17.5 hours per week . Work Location LIFE Four Corners Child Development Center Burlington, NJ 08016 Monday-Friday availability until 6:00 PM is required.
