The Head Teacher will help oversee classroom operations, support teaching staff, maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment, and ensure classrooms are following the center's curriculum, policies, and New Jersey childcare licensing requirements.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-3:00

PM Hours:

30 paid hours per week; 1-hour unpaid lunch

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and support to classroom teachers. Assist teachers with lesson planning, curriculum implementation, classroom management, and age-appropriate activities. Ensure classrooms maintain a safe, clean, organized, and nurturing environment. Monitor classroom routines and help ensure staff follow center policies and NJ childcare licensing requirements. Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Communicate professionally with parents, teachers, and administration. Assist with classroom coverage when necessary. Maintain required classroom documentation and records. Model positive interactions and appropriate behavior-management techniques. Work closely with the Director and Assistant Director to maintain high-quality care throughout the center.

Qualifications:

Must meet New Jersey Office of Licensing requirements for the Head Teacher position. CDA, college credits and/or college degree as applicable to NJ Head Teacher qualification requirements. Previous experience working in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or early childhood setting. Strong classroom-management and leadership skills. Reliable, organized, professional, and able to work collaboratively with staff. CPR/First Aid certification preferred; must be willing to obtain/maintain required certifications. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Pay:

$18.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 per week
