The Learning Experience Corp - Hackensack, NJ seeks a Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom for infants through preschoolers. In this role, you will implement our curriculum, plan age-appropriate lessons, and support social-emotional development through play-based learning. You will observe and document progress, adapt activities to individual needs, and maintain open, positive communication with families. The Lead Teacher mentors assistants, models best practices, follows all safety and licensing standards, and collaborates with a supportive, child-focused team dedicated to high-quality early childhood education. Responsibilities Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and daily lessons for infants through preschoolers Create and maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment Support children's social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning Observe, assess, and document children's progress and adjust instruction as needed Communicate regularly and professionally with families about child development and classroom activities Mentor and guide assistant teachers, modeling effective classroom management and instruction Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and state licensing regulations Collaborate with center leadership and colleagues to support school-wide initiatives and events Participate in ongoing training and professional development Manage classroom routines, schedules, and transitions to support positive behavior Required Skills Early childhood curriculum planning Classroom management Child development assessment and observation Lesson planning Parent and family communication Behavior guidance and positive discipline Health, safety, and licensing compliance Recordkeeping and documentation Team leadership and mentoring CPR and First Aid
