We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children, takes initiative, and can help maintain a safe, engaging, and well-organized classroom. Responsibilities Partner with the classroom teacher to implement daily routines and age-appropriate learning activities Actively supervise children and maintain proper classroom ratios Support children during meals, diapering or toileting, rest time, transitions, and outdoor play Lead small-group activities, stories, songs, art projects, sensory experiences, and learning through play Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom Complete classroom documentation and provide families with appropriate daily updates Follow all center policies, licensing requirements, and health and safety procedures Communicate professionally with children, families, coworkers, and administration Qualifications Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare setting is strongly preferred CDA, college coursework, or a degree in Early Childhood Education is a plus Must be dependable, punctual, patient, and professional Must be comfortable taking initiative and working collaboratively Must be willing to complete all required background checks, fingerprinting, and health clearances CPR and First Aid certification is preferred Must be able to perform the physical responsibilities associated with caring for young children Schedule Monday through Friday Full-time availability preferred Must have dependable transportation and consistent availability Responsibilities Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards and promote literacy, math, physical activity, and social-emotional learning. Support classroom management by maintaining a positive, inclusive environment that encourages children's independence and cooperation. Engage children in age-appropriate activities focused on childhood development milestones, including toddler care and preschool instruction. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and classroom activities to foster strong home-school connections. Support special education initiatives and early intervention strategies to meet diverse learning needs of all children. Ensure safety by adhering to mandated reporting laws, practicing first aid and CPR when necessary, and maintaining a clean, organized classroom environment. Collaborate with team members on lesson planning, classroom setup, behavior management strategies, and assessment of child development progress through standardized testing when applicable. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies. Experience in curriculum development with an emphasis on literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and social-emotional learning. Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and mandated reporting laws is advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire; additional certifications related to childhood education or child welfare are a plus. Proven ability to create a nurturing environment that supports the holistic growth of young children through thoughtful lesson planning and active teaching experience with preschoolers.
