This flexible role offers the opportunity to work in diverse educational settings, providing engaging instruction and supervision to children and youth. As a Per Diem Educator, you will foster a safe, nurturing environment that promotes learning, creativity, and positive behavior. Your expertise will support various programs, including classroom activities, outdoor adventures, youth groups, and special events, ensuring every child receives personalized attention and encouragement. Responsibilities Lead and facilitate age-appropriate educational activities, including tutoring, arts and crafts, theater experiences, and outdoor games. Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to create a positive learning environment. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety protocols such as first aid procedures and child supervision standards are followed at all times. Implement youth development programs that promote social skills, teamwork, and personal growth. Maintain accurate attendance records and activity logs for program documentation. Respond promptly to emergencies by applying first aid protocols, CPR, AED operation, and other safety procedures when necessary. Collaborate with team members to plan engaging lessons and activities tailored to diverse age groups and developmental needs. Skills Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain order while fostering an inclusive atmosphere. Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; familiarity with childhood development principles. Knowledge of first aid procedures, CPR certification, AED operation, and first aid protocols. Background in special education or experience working with children with special needs is highly desirable. Proven ability to supervise children safely during outdoor work, camp activities, or youth group events. Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, staff, and community partners. Demonstrated leadership in team environments with a focus on youth programs teaching experience. Creative theater or arts experience that can be integrated into educational programming. Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments while maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm.
