Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated Preschool Assistant Director to join the leadership team at their premier preschool in Oakland, NJ. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), a genuine love for children, and a strong commitment to education. This is a Direct Hire position with the school Full-Time; Monday-Friday; year-round employment Salary $45,000 year pending education, certifications, and professional Early Childhood Education experience Bonus incentive based on specified metrics Benefits Health / Dental / Vision 401(k) w/ match Paid Personal/Vacation Days Paid Holidays Child-Enrollment Discount Professional Development Assistance Continuing Education Assistance Responsibilities Support the daily administrative and operational functions of the school Work collaboratively with the Co-Director and leadership team to maintain smooth day-to-day operations Assist in efforts to increase enrollment by providing tours, supporting marketing initiatives, and building strong relationships with prospective families Demonstrate strong organizational and multitasking abilities while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Maintain a positive, professional attitude and contribute to a supportive workplace culture Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, teachers, and staff through excellent communication and people skills Plan and coordinate creative events for families and teachers, including school events, parent engagement activities, and appreciation initiatives Assist with open houses and school events, including occasional weekend participation when needed Ensure administrative tasks, documentation, and school records are organized and maintained Step in to support classrooms when needed to maintain ratios and ensure smooth operations Qualifications Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education or related field required CDA (Child Development Associate) credential preferred
REQUIRED
Leadership Experience:
At least 2-years of continuous administrative experience in a licensed childcare center/preschool Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations - for Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib Must meet background check eligibility
