Astoria, NY 11106 (In Person) Job Summary We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and energetic Lead 3-K Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate is an experienced and nurturing educator who will take a leadership role in creating a positive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for 3-K students. The Lead 3-K Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing creative lesson plans, providing individualized instruction, mentoring classroom staff, and supporting each child's academic, social-emotional, and physical development. The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for early childhood education, strong classroom leadership skills, and the ability to create a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment where children can learn, explore, and grow. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum aligned with 3-K developmental milestones. Create individualized learning experiences that support each child's interests, abilities, and developmental needs. Provide hands-on, interactive instruction that encourages curiosity, creativity, and independence. Establish and maintain a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment. Lead classroom management while ensuring children feel supported, confident, and engaged. Assess, document, and monitor children's progress and communicate updates with families. Maintain accurate student records, lesson plans, and classroom documentation. Collaborate with assistant teachers and staff to provide consistent, high-quality instruction and care. Mentor and support classroom team members while promoting teamwork and professionalism. Plan and execute educational indoor and outdoor activities, classroom projects, and special events. Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers through regular communication and partnership. Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy classroom environment following all health and safety procedures. Observe children's behavior and report concerns regarding neglect, abuse, or developmental needs according to school policies and regulations. Participate in professional development opportunities, staff meetings, and training. Qualifications & Skills Proven experience as an early childhood teacher. Minimum of 1 year of classroom teaching experience . Experience working with 3-K, preschool, or early childhood-aged children preferred. Strong knowledge of early childhood development and teaching practices. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Creative, energetic, patient, and committed to children's success. Strong classroom management abilities. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, families, and administrators. Knowledge of CPR and First Aid. Familiarity with health, sanitizing, disinfecting, and classroom safety procedures. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field required. NYS Early Childhood Certification required or actively working toward certification. English proficiency required.
