Job Description
Child Care Assistant Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Care Assistant to support the development and well-being of young children in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will assist with daily childcare activities, ensure a safe and engaging atmosphere, and communicate effectively with parents and team members. This role requires a strong understanding of early childhood needs, safety protocols, and educational principles to foster positive growth experiences for children. Responsibilities Supervise children during various activities to ensure their safety and well-being. Provide infant care, including feeding, diapering, and comforting young children as needed. Implement age-appropriate early childhood educational activities to promote learning and development. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety standards, including first aid and CPR procedures. Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and daily activities. Support teaching staff in delivering engaging educational experiences tailored to young children. Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure the safety of children in your care by promptly reporting any concerns or incidents. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the childcare area to promote a healthy environment. Qualifications Valid certification in First Aid and CPR. Health and Safety training (must be completed after being hired) MAT training preferred At least 2 years of experience in infant care and working with young children in an educational or childcare setting . CDA (Child Development Associate) certificate preferred) Strong child supervision skills with a focus on safety and attentive caregiving. Effective communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and team members. Knowledge of early childhood education principles and teaching experience with young children is preferred. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare. Compassionate, patient, and reliable individual committed to supporting children's developmental needs.
