Job Description
Job Summary •This is a part-time position, 17 hours per week, 8.5 hours every Monday (8am - 4:30pm) and 8.5 hours every Friday (8am - 4:30pm)•We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the safe, nurturing, and educational environment of our daycare. This role involves engaging with infants, toddlers, and young children, assisting in their development, and promoting positive interactions among peers. Responsibilities Assist in the supervision of children in a daycare setting, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Support the lead assistant in implementing age-appropriate educational activities that promote childhood development. Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages social interaction and learning. Help with daily routines including meal times, nap times, and play activities. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the food prep area, diapering area, and play areas. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and daily activities. Assist in managing classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques. Provide first aid as needed and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Qualifications Previous experience in childcare, daycare, or similar caregiving roles is preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices is highly desirable. First aid certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff members. A nurturing attitude with a passion for educating young children through play-based learning activities. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
