Position Overview:
- We are seeking a passionate and dedicated UPK Lead Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will implement developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum while creating a nurturing environment that supports each child's unique developmental journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute a play-centered curriculum aligned with NYS early learning standards
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Support children's social-emotional development through respectful guidance and modeling
- Collaborate with families to build strong partnerships and share children's progress
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom
- Engage in continuous professional development and team collaboration
- Document and assess children's growth and learning experiences
Qualifications:
- Birth-Grade 2 Certification or equivalent credential
- Experience in a preschool or early childhood setting, preferably progressive, play-based programs
- Passion for child-centered, developmentally appropriate practices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and fostering a welcoming environment
