Job Description

Friends Academy an Independent Day School, PS-12th grade, located in Locust Valley on 65 expansive acres on the north shore of Long Island is seeking Substitute Teacher positions for all divisions. Experience is preferred and strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a love for working with children or young adults, are required. Candidates will complete an application for employment and must have full fingerprinting clearance through
NYS OSPRA
(TEACH) or will obtain fingerprinting clearance before employment. When applying please indicate Substitute Teaching Position in the subject line.

  • Follow lesson plans, maintain order, and follow school policies and guidelines. Flexibility
  • Adapt to various grade levels and subjects while following school guidelines. Instruction
  • Teach assigned subjects, and lesson plans,engage students, and adapt as needed. Supervision
  • Monitor students in class and school areas, ensuring safety. Record-Keeping
  • Take attendance and report any incidents. Communication
  • Interact professionally with colleagues and students; seek out resources as needed.
